National Day, fireworks and durians

it was a mad rush today. had family lunch at 12 noon and rushed off to supermart in Isetan Scotts to get ingredients for that big pot of something and scallop salad!

met mich who helped with the carrying of stuff. started to cook at around 5pm for that big pot of something and salad. when done, it was just nice! Only regret was the the table wasn't properly set...so everything was lying around and looked damn messy. At around 6ish, Jason and Carol came with 10 durians, some rambutans and longans...heh...the party's really starting...

around 7pm, Ck came with Vanessa and we were gonna expect more people like Willo, Chee Peng, BJ and BM...but when the first burst of fireworks came into the dark night sky, they did not arrive...so there's me with my cammy on tripod recording the fireworks, ck and Jason climbing walls capturing still shots with their cam. Mich, Carol, Vanessa and my parents were all enjoying the beautiful burst of lights in the sky. The rooftop had a great view and we all stared in awed!! Away from the crowd, away from the hussle and bussle..we had our own private fireworks show!!! It was really most beautiful!! Prolly post it on 'You Tube' so everyone can see...but now...quite lazy...

Just after the fireworks stopped, Willo and BM arrived. They started eating. Anyhows, the big pot of something and the salad rec'd rave reviews..i am glad...many asked for receipe as well...haha...i think salads are my forte...hehe but peepz...i still have something up my sleeves!! Next time...if there's another chance..

Slightly later, we started eating the durians. The guys had difficulty prying the durians open to get to the flesh...by the way, the durians only cost $1 each!! We all didn't had high expectations, but they tasted excellent and we all agreed they were worth each and every cent!!!

Chee Peng and BJ came much later, and brought with them Don's pie...which were yums...Willo's chicken wings were uber yummers as well!! We all eat till we couldn't eat anymore. Later, JY, Ann and Cece, arrived after muc difficulty as they went for the parade...sheesh...they had to take a bus over...but JY drove..

So they came, cleared the salad, the big pot of something and left one piece of Don's pie for my breakfast and left quite a few chicken wings!! I'd have lots of leftovers to clear tomorrow...sighz..all fatty somemore...ohh..but i have left over ingredients for salad...so still not that bad...

and after that, we talk lots, laughed lots and had a great time...took lots of pics. We all had fun! Now's looking forward to CK's 30th birthday celebration..heh..and lots of fireworks...

oh i now realised the importance of having a tripod...it's sure handy...and i am not referring to those small ones...

will post the pics when have time..heh
