Singapore's sakura

'sakura' along nicoll highway

i can't remember the name of this tree, though i am quite sure it's in one of my blog post. this tree flowers when it rains after couple of hot days. this to me kinda looks like sakura from afar. the interesting thing about this tree is that when it flowers, the leaves drop too. so you see only flowers on the tree.


well, the major difference i suppose it's not as tiny and cute as the cherry blossoms. but i guess i will settle for this before i ever get a chance to see the sakuras in japan.

Our singapore trees

i embarked on a net search and found some of the trees which i really liked when i saw them blossoming. it's not easy to find as the trees are mostly in their scientific names. not that i know their normal names, i can only identify them by their flowers.


my online search lead me to the national park website. hmm.. frankly speaking, i think there's still a lot of improvements to be made to the website. namely, more detailed write up of the trees and better photographs.

apple blossoms - have you seen it before?

i've never seen this before and never knew that apple blossoms are so breathtakingly beautiful!

i love flowers and i dream of seeing the sakura blossom in Japan once in my lifetime.

since i couldn't go to Japan during this period, i settled for the blossoms in our little tropical island.

seriously, you'd be surprise at what you can find. the blossoms are amazingly pretty too! i think i remembered the sunday lifestyle did a write up on the trees which are grown in our country. i'm trying to find out more about the plants, hopefully i can get some good write ups.
